Born May 10, 1992, a sensational voice reached out to the nation on September 21, 2010. It was the unbelievably warm welcome that has landed her here, in this blog as a part II of the newest members of Glee review. There were two new young faces seen on the season premiere of Glee this year, and this young lady, nicknamed Charice, was definitely the show stopper. The eighteen year Filipina was an immediate success and found herself appearing on the “trending topics” on Twitter within minutes of the show airing. Fans of the show, throughout the country, including big names like Josh Grobin, were weighing in about the new voice of the show.
All over the internet for the past couple of weeks is talk of the hit show that features the realistic characters with unbelievable voices. Glee won a great deal of acclaim in its very first season and the fanfare hasn’t slowed since. Thus, it is no surprise to see that this nation’s youth is in a tizzy about the newest members of their generation making a reoccurring splash on the continuous musical. So, in an effort to please those who want to know more about these new additions, I am writing a two part series on the newest voices to the Glee cast. Today’s post is dedicated to the unusually named, young and handsome, Chord Overstreet. Though the name might seem a stage name, don’t be fooled. This young talent comes from a family of musicians, who named their third child with three-noted chord.
Last night the second episode of the new season of Glee aired. It was not the best, in my opinion, but did feature the music of a onetime pop icon – Britney Spears. It is ironic, I think, that my generation – the generation that loved and hated Britney – when she was at her best, is also the generation that welcomes her music with open arms on the hottest new television series we have seen in several years. The twenty-eight year old singing sensation has seen a number of hard times since her rise to stardom at such an early age, but still we can look past it all and remember the good ‘ol days of “Hit Me Baby One More Time”(happily forgetting “Oops I Did it Again.”).
Melvin Torme´ was born in Chicago on September 13, 1925. From the very early age of four, the boy’s talents were recognized. That year he sang with the Coon-Sanders Orchestra and that was just the beginning for a man that would win the world over with his ultra smooth, crooning voice. Making several appearances on television and in the movies, Mel recognized a whirlwind of success that would last him throughout his life. He was, in fact awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999, the same year that a second stroke would end his life. Most people consider that a tremendous loss to the music industry. With him and those of his generation went a style of music that many loved, cherished and have missed.
Who would have thought, ten or twelve years ago when the oh-so-overplayed songs of the boy band, N’Sync, filled the airwaves that Justin Timberlake would one day be a well accepted musician, actor and voiceover artist? Not me. That is for sure.
Justin Timberlake was born in Memphis, TN on January 31, 1981. At the age of fourteen, he joined a group of guys that would become the embodiment of teenyboppers’ dreams. For four years, N’Sync went strong with one billboard hit after another and so their names would forever go down in history as being big players in the days of poppiest pop ever know. In fact, it was Justin’s smooth tongue that sang the appropriate lyrics in the aptly named Dirty Pop.

Here are some artists who go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to entertaining us with their music. Some of them act the way they do to be mysterious, some for shock value, but most are just bizarre in the first place. Warning: There’s some pretty gross stuff in this article. If you get queasy by the mention of things like goats blood, for example, I would be weary.
