Yes it is an integral part of our day-to-day lives and without it many would suffer unimaginable frustration and withdrawl, but if I have not proven it to you yet, I will today- voicemail can be funny.
A while ago I wrote a blog post on creative voicemail greetings. Well, today, I noticed an older Twitter entry by YouMail that made mention of another funny greeting. I had to giggle at the play on the new trend to outsource everything and thought that I should share it with my loyal readers. The voice of the faux Indian man is that of Louis Ashamallah. His standup career has included opening for the one and only Jay Leno, as well as many functions for large businesses. This former winner of the Comedy Central competition is now doing stand up for good causes. Doing business by day, at night this Los Angeles native donates his comedic income to charities such as LA Free Clinic, UNICEF, and the American Heart Association. But, that is not the end of his giving. After all, he gave us this extremely humorous voicemail greeting to play over and over each time we need a good giggle. “Tom” is always there for a bit of comedic relief. Imagine how great it would be hearing it for the first time via a friend’s voicemail.
If you love this voicemail greeting, then check out Ashamallah’s website, where you can hear samples of his standup, buy his CD, and read a bit more of the voice behind the Voicemail Outsourced to India, known for his comedy based on real life experiences. Enjoy his bit about his rich, white boss named Rich White and an amusing rap about an Egyptian. Or visit YouMail, if you want to use the funny greeting as your own, or even as a ringer.
